Our Story

Learn how The Mood Booster came to be

We’re Charlie and Dr Marcus, and we host The Mood Booster Podcast: The home of Wellbeing and Joy. We share evidence-backed tips and tools you can use to improve your wellbeing and find joy in the every day.

 

We met in May 2024 at a run club in London. Within weeks we were running together, training together, and talking about everything from heartbreak to healing, mindset to ambitions mid-jog.

 

The chats got a little deeper. The friendship became stronger. We realised we shared a real passion: making wellbeing more human, honest, and actually fun. So, we started a podcast. One where we could bring the same joy, compassion and curiosity for improvement within our friendship to people’s ears.

 

Every episode is a deep (but accessible) dive into something real. Regret, grief, friendship, burnout, body image, self-worth… We break things down using psychological theory, real research, and our own lived experiences.

 

We aim to have honest chats with easy and practical takeaways. We want to create a place where you can show up as you are, be kind to yourself and remember that joy can exist even when things are heavy.

Thus the Mood Booster was born. We’re proud to be two guys showing real emotion and sharing a true friendship. More importantly, we're so glad you’re here with us for this journey to build the home of wellbeing and joy. Welcome to the community.
