Our Story

The Mood Booster is the home of wellbeing and joy. We help people find joy in their everyday through psychology tools, self-understanding, and community connection.

Where it began

The Mood Booster began with a run. In October 2023, Dr Marcus, who holds a PhD in Forensic Psychology, started the Monday Mood Booster run club after completing 1,000 consecutive days of running, wanting to bring the same sense of routine and headspace to others. Charlie joined the club in May 2024, and what started as a shared love of running quickly became a shared belief that wellbeing should be simple, honest, and built through community rather than found alone.

Evolution

That belief became The Mood Booster Podcast, launched in December 2024. Each episode brings evidence based tools, drawn from Dr Marcus's background in psychology, to a different part of everyday life, from nostalgia and imposter syndrome to the holidays and seasonal change, giving people practical, psychology backed ways to find their mood boost wherever they are in life.

Expansion

From there, The Mood Booster grew into a wider community organisation. Dr Marcus and Charlie run workshops on men's mental health stigma with universities, sessions on diet culture and the psychology behind wellbeing, and running based workshops that bring people together on their feet. Through The Mood Booster Certification, they also work directly with businesses to help them improve wellbeing at work, so the same values reach further into people's everyday lives.

Yes, completely free. Sign the waiver, join the WhatsApp chat, and show up on a Monday. That's it.

A research led framework that helps organisations assess, benchmark, and continually improve how they support the wellbeing of their people, customers, and communities. It's built for real, everyday practices rather than performative wellness box ticking.

The Mood Booster Podcast is available wherever you listen to podcasts, plus full video episodes on YouTube.

Absolutely. The podcast, community resources, and Certification all work regardless of location. The Run Club itself currently meets in London on Mondays.
